You may be familiar with all the news items and program descriptions to be found on the pages of NACM’s website, but did you know that there is an entire library of resources compiled together for your convenience, many of which are exclusive to members and free of charge?
The NACM Knowledge & Learning Center operates as the central hub for resources such as free teleconferences and webinars; articles on best practices; and a search engine for sample forms, important documents, and an array of articles from Business Credit magazine. The center’s main page is laid out in several sections. Let the icons in each section guide your choices. Those with a lock symbol require member login and denote options that are special benefits to NACM membership. Free sections are clearly marked “Free” and those that require a purchase are marked with a shopping cart icon.
Be sure to check out the section called Best Practices by GSCFM Alumni, which contains articles written by those who have attended NACM’s Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management. This resource, free for members, will directly assist you in your career as a credit professional. Recent topics include “Components of a Sound Credit Policy,” “Developing an Internal Credit Score for Businesses,” and “Implementing ERP Systems.”
The full range of certifications offered by NACM can be found in the section Take Certificate Classes and Online Courses. These pages outline all the courses required for each certification and break down how each is available either in a live classroom setting or in an online environment.
Click on “Search Now” under the section Search Thru Books and you’ll be taken to the extensive Resource Library. Here you’ll find quick links to useful forms and important documents, as well as NACM’s own publication, the Manual of Credit and Commercial Law. More importantly, search the Resource Library and you’ll find extracts and articles from a wide variety of materials, including NACM’s Business Credit magazine and the eNews newsletter. The term “Bankruptcy” alone yields over 700 results.
From the Knowledge & Learning Center you can read entire issues of Business Credit magazine online, going back to 2015, viewable on desktop, mobile device or tablet. Articles from earlier editions are available under Search Thru Books or the BCM Archives link on the magazine’s back issue page.
Under the section News & Updates, check out links from credit insurers and banks, including Atradius, Euler Hermes, Coface, and Wells Fargo. Resources include country reports, economic outlooks and market monitors.
