While attending Credit Congress last month it was exciting to learn our local member, Sheryl A. Rasmusson, CCE was voted as the 2018 Chair-Elect to the NACM National Board of Directors. What an honor for Sheryl to be voted to serve the position in 2018 with the intent for her to be the National Board Chair in 2019. One can’t help but be motivated when spending some time listening to Sheryl’s vision and strong values for NACM. I am honored to share a little of her vision for NACM and a bit about her employer and strong supporter, Kilgore Tec Products.
1. What made you want to serve on the NACM National Board of Directors?
After serving on the local board of directors I wanted to know all the details of the organization and how NACM National worked with NACM Affiliates. I wanted to be part of the bigger picture and offer ideas and suggestions to improve upon traditional values and services offered to the membership.
2. Describe the experience thus far.
So far serving on the National Board of Directors has been one of the most enjoyable and potentially fulfilling experiences of my career.
3. You have just been voted in as the Chair Elect on the National Board for 2018. What will your role entail?
The role of the Chair Elect will be to serve as part of a team on the Executive Committee to work through intricate details of all facets of the organization. As Chair Elect I will serve as a support system to the Chairman and Past Chair as well as the President. The service will be focused on cohesiveness and growth as well as issues that may arise within the organization.
4. What is your vision for NACM as you enter into this position and prepare for the Chair position in 2019?
Moving forward my vision is to bring focus back to the members and member companies, as they are the lifeline of everything that we do. I want members to provide new ideas resulting in membership value ultimately creating growth and sustainability. Unification and collaboration with NACM Affiliates and NACM National will result in cohesiveness felt by all members. The new NACM logo signifies moving forward and driving results. This is a huge success in the fact that we are all part of the same team.
Let me provide an example of what this means – we don’t see the company, Apple, using a Gala, Fuji, and Granny Smith identity. They operate unified regardless of what is happening behind the scenes. They have new technology, products, and services and move ahead of the curve. Now is the time for NACM to do the same. I believe we can accomplish this with hard work from every single person who is part of the organization and I am excited for the challenge. Let’s bring some passion back to everything we do, because if you believe in something it is easy to share, promote, and be successful.
