Columbia Grain International, LLC. is a long time established full-service grain company in the grain and pulses business. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon and own/operate over 60 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MT, NE and ND to support our domestic and export sales program.

Position Description

The primary responsibilities of the Credit Analyst are analyzing customer financial condition and authorizing customer credit lines, addressing A/R issues with customers and internal personnel in a timely and professional manner.  The Credit Analyst will work with the Credit Manager to continually improve departmental and company policies and procedures as they relate to credit.

The Credit Analyst will interact regularly with members of our sales force, other members of the accounting team and external customers regarding sensitive collection and credit issues.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and communicates customer credit worthiness.
  • Maintains customer credit limits, credit recommendations and credit files.
  • Communicates with Credit Manager.
  • Complies with accounting principles, CGI’s service levels and credit policy.
  • Responds to order release incoming calls.
  • B2B collection calls.
  • Collect on delinquent payments.
  • Post Payments Daily.
  • Investigate unapplied payments.
  • Assists the internal and external audit team by preparing and providing requested credit information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of analyzing credit eligibility within a B2B credit and collection environment.
  • Ability to provide on-site business coverage between 7:30 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and analyze complex financial statements.
  • Familiarity with business and customer credit reports and credit scores.
  • Proven ability to conduct research.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and enthusiasm under all circumstances.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail to ensure accurate work output.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the company, vendors and customers.
  • Ability to uphold and maintain discretion and care regarding confidential and sensitive personnel and company information.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the functions of the position.
