How quickly it turns to Fall and with the change in weather comes a full calendar of events for credit professionals. I trust you’ve seen the invitations to the Western Credit Conference coming to Portland, October 23-25. These opportunities to invest in yourself and your career shouldn’t be passed up. The planned programs are applicable to every credit position. Professional development is vital to your success! For those members needing CEU points to keep your certifications current, this is your opportunity. We hope you’ll consider joining others at the conference. Registrations are plentiful and it’s going to be a full house.

NACM CS has a full Accreditation program on the calendar for 2020. Now is the time to plan ahead and get your approvals to attend a class working toward your credit designation. The classes are arranged to allow the flexibility of attending in one of our offices or taking it live and directly from a personal or office computer. The choice is yours! Again, invest in yourself; you’ll be glad you did.

This month we’ve had the pleasure of hosting the Annual Past Chair events NACM CS holds to honor those who have given their time in the past to serve as Chair on our Board of Directors. The attendance is outstanding and service on the Board dates back to when I was just a baby…. and that was a long time ago! These are the individuals who have made business credit a career and understand NACM partnered with them in that success. They continue to know the value of networking and relationship building. I was honored to be a part of the programs again this year. If you are interested in volunteering your service on the Board of Directors, any NACM project committees, or the NACM Foundation Board please reach out to discuss the best fit for you.

Lastly, as the end of the year is looming on the calendar, a productive credit professional will take time to research past due accounts and make a determination if perhaps NACM’s Collection Department can be of service to provide added leverage in collection efforts. This will help bolster your recoveries before year-end. The collectors at NACM have been working in B2B collections for decades. They are knowledgeable in asset recovery and ready to assist NACM members.
